Sourced from a single vineyard of mostly decomposed, well-drained granite from the hills back up behind Darioush winery, this Napa Valley Cabernet is concentrated and pure. Despite the relatively cool-climate, this wine is perfectly ripe and decadent with loads of boysenberry, black cherry, and cassis contrasting with the savory depths of cedar, soy, ginger spice and high-octane vanilla bean from 70% new French oak.
Check-in tasting 6.23.21 - This wine was a mess a couple months ago but it is coming around nicely…blackberry, cassis, vanilla, red rock, and sweet florals have evolved nicely on the nose. Explosive minerality dominates the palate, however, this needs time to integrate and for the elegance to return. Mineral focus and cassis will continue to develop and shine.
