Lot 73 | 2019 Russian River Chardonnay 750ml

Lot 73 | 2019 Russian River Chardonnay 750ml

From the same producer as N.72 Russian River Cabernet, this Chardonnay hails from the same Goldridge and Altamont soils the Russian River is famous for. Pure and lush with gorgeous aromatics, it has just a 20% kiss of new French oak to elevate the fruit - a perfect Chardonnay for those of you looking for a little less oak in your wine but still want a complex and succulent Chardonnay experience.

The 2018 version of this wine was recently scored 92 points by Antonio Galloni in Vinous and priced well above $40/bottle. Every bit as good as the N.63 offered a few weeks ago, N.73 Russian River Chardonnay is first-class, first-run wine made by true experts in the field and a stellar value at $16/bottle.

Pale yellow in the glass, it features a nuanced yet zesty nose of pretty white flowers, lemon/lime, green apple and a kiss of lanolin and fresh butter. Vibrant and fresh on entry but deeply succulent and soft across the midpalate, delivering loads of citrus, mineral, and blossom that echo throughout the long, pure finish. This is a pristine, crystalline and gorgeous Chardonnay, deftly made and elegantly rendered - a wonderful accompaniment to food.

July 2nd UPDATE - OG N.73 – super pretty and expressive right now…pure orchard fruit flavors are beautifully supported by schisty acidity…great lift aromatically and on the palate as well. This drinks great now and will continue to improve over the next 5-7 years.
