When the original winery sells this member's allocation-only juice, it goes for $1,500/case. Not here. A quick September call led to the opportunity to buy a few barrels worth of their 2021 surplus straight out of the winery and we're offering it to this list today with the finest provenance.

Today, we’ve got a powerhouse of a small quantity 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend from a high-end producer on the Silverado Trail with a tight allocation to keep their prices in the triple digits and their demand high.

This beast of a wine features the best Napa Valley has to offer; world-class winemaking team that's no stranger to mid-to-high 90s scores year over year, state-of-the-art facility blending elegant juice from the slopes of Howell Mountain and the hills of Calistoga with deep and luscious juice from the valley floor of Oakville and Yountville. The result: an intense and complete expression of Napa Valley terroir.

Lot 427 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% French oak with 33% new wood for a sturdy but balanced structure. Being from the great '21 vintage, it's still shaking off the baby fat, but as this list knows, the '21s will reward the patient.

Rich aromatics of red fruit and currants are balanced by earthy tobacco leaf, dried herbs, and cloves that pull you deep into the glass - no lack of structure on the nose alone. The entry is what you'd expect of the superb '21 vintage; still a bit swaddled in baby fat, the core is stylistically classic Napa with the mid-palate exploding with structure, red-to-black fruit, perfectly balanced acidity, and earthy tones shifting to perfectly integrated tannins with exceptional minerality showing itself. The finish is still a bit youthful, showing classic barrel character of baking spice and vanilla, but underneath the berry-like umami is just waiting to breakout. The patient amongst us will be most rewarded here.

Small quantity was mentioned earlier, only 150 cases available.
