I met Antoine Roy at a tasting here in San Francisco last Spring and was impressed by every wine he produced, including his reds. He has been farming and winegrowing 30-hectares in the Loire appellations of AOP Valençay, Touraine and Touraine Chenonceaux since 1989 but the land has been in his family for generations. He knows what he is doing.

I loved the red wine "Petit Range" but thought was just to young to bring in at the time...next round. Anyhow the whites are fantastic across the board and I am thrilled to bring them into the USA.

Super-intense Sauvignon nose effusive with lemongrass, citrus and pear aromas with beautiful minerality and limestone notes intermingled with the flinty acacia blossoms. The bouquet is fresh and young with plenty of complexity yet to emerge. On the palate, she's a skyscraper of a wine, big, fresh and tense in the mouth with a long beam of acidity adorned with beautiful purity of fruit, a laser-like focus and a salivating, persistent finish of grapefruit and honeyed chalk riding crystalline minerality into the sunset. Just delicious. Drink now and over the next 3-5 years. Holds up beautifully in the bottle and great to watch evolve over a couple of days.
