Wine Details & Tasting Notes

93-Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2007 Contrarian Proprietary Red reveals compelling crushed blueberries, black plum preserves and cassis notes with touches of potpourri, balsamic, tobacco leaf, Chinese five spice and menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the firmly textured palate gives a great intensity of black fruit and earthy layers with a long, exotic spice-laced finish. (LPB) (8/2018)

93-Points Wine Enthusiast
"Give this young wine some time in the cellar to let the tannins drop out. Right now, it's a bit hard and astringent, although it's so rich in fruit that a good decanting will let you enjoy it. Shows a molten core of blackberries, crème de cassis, cocoa and cedar, with a mineral undertow. Dramatic wine."
