Wine Details & Tasting Notes

Last Spring, while attending Prowein in Germany, I came across the Graves Association of Bordeaux "highlights" table where I had the opportunity to taste about 30-40 different Graves white wines. The wine on offer today immediately captured my attention and I tracked down the producer, Chateau La Rose Sarron, and struck up a conversation.

Soon I had a host of samples in our office and  chose two fantastic wines to offer you today. One of which, of course, is the wine that captured my attention in the first place, aptly named Ambassadeur de Graves. Well, no wonder the association chose it to highlight the regions capabilities.

An unoaked blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Muscadelle.

A beautiful white effusive with pretty gooseberry, classic Graves river stone, honeyed melon, and jalapeño nose with hints of lemon blossom and jasmine white florals reaching up from underneath. Deftly balanced on entry with that distinct Semillon beeswax uplifting chalky lemon and tangerine against a backdrop of medium acidity leading into a crystalline minerality finish of medium length. Lots of youth still in the bottle, more to come for the patient among us.
