Lot 515 is an exercise in sheer winemaking brilliance – given carte blanche and an empty canvas, our source began with a Cabernet Sauvignon backbone and seamlessly fused it with select Bordelaise varietals and percentages that they keep a closely guarded house secret. This meticulously crafted display of Napa Valley artistry at its finest sells directly from the winery for comfortably north of the $150/bottle mark, so we are absolutely over the moon to have negotiated this for you to a mind-boggling price of under $25/bottle!

Way up at the crest of the Mayacamas, a handful of narrow, steep terraces are home to vineyards that yield small clusters of tiny, thick-skinned berries. Hand-picked, hand-sorted, and destemmed before undergoing a long maceration, the lots were settled separately into a no-expense-spared 100% French oak regimen. After just shy of two years in barrel, the winemakers went about fashioning the blend, producing a divine marriage and formidable showcase of mountain terroir.

Tempting aromas of plum and cassis dance out of the glass, joined by layers of cherry reduction, a medley of dried herbs, tobacco, and crushed gravel. The entry is impeccably balanced between concentrated mountain fruit, medium+ acidity reminiscent of black cherries, and young, grippy tannins. The finish is exquisite, with elevated fruit and spice leading into vanilla blossoms and crushed iris unfolding in waves of complexity.
