OG N.36 2018 Sonoma "Altitude" Chardonnay 12-bottle case SHIPS OCTOBER 12TH
Back up the Mayacamas we go. Retailing for over $50 a bottle and sporting several low-to-mid-90's scores from the critics critics, this high-altitude-grown Chardonnay is a spectacular example of beautiful fruit lovingly draped over mountain structure. There are very limited quantities so act fast.
Rich and complex on the nose with ripe florals, spicy apple custard and honeyed citrus sitting atop a distinctive Bartlett pear note. Nicely rounded and mouth-filling on the palate with what appears to be a signature oiliness similar to the Viognier (if which, there are 19 cases left as of this writing), but with ample tension that perfectly integrates the rich fruit viscosity and vibrant acidity. Booyah.
