Wine Details & Tasting Notes

The 2016 version of this wine scored 93 points from Vinous and the 2018 is a dead-ringer. This wine retails for between $70 and $80 per bottle and is an exceptional relative value at $20+ a bottle when you buy by the case.

Deep ruby in the glass with a pale purple rim. Dark and brooding nose of graphite, lavender, and dark fruit at first but with air the red rock minerality and pretty cherry fruit emerge, hinting at things to come. This reticent beauty is reluctant on the palate as well, supple and racy on entry with the fruit is swaddled in hillside baby-fat. With maceration one can get the black cherry and black tea so clearly some decanting is in order here. Plenty of length here and the precision is evident if nothing else. Bottled on 8/26, best to let this one rest through the end of the year and then drink this what will soon be beautiful Cabernet over the next 10-15 years.

22 months in 100% neutral French oak.
13.5% alc.
