Wine Details & Tasting Notes

We have less than 200 cases of each of these wines, so I thought it would make a fun "compare and contrast" mixed-case. You will receive six bottles of OG N.83 and six bottles of N.84, and both are 2019 Semillon-based white blends. These delicious wines are just a few of the many wines we sourced from this impressive Walla Walla winery.

OG N.83 is a blend of 70% Walla Walla Estate Semillon and 30% Old Vine Chenin from a vineyard in The Dalles (therefore Columbia Valley appellation). This is the producer's blend, retailing for just north of $30/bottle out of the tasting room. Produced and aged in 100% stainless steel, it is pristine and lovely, making a wonderful accompaniment to shellfish, lightly-creamed pasta dishes, or Buerre Blanc. Of course, it's a wonderful aperitif and will be singing come springtime. (Please note: the image below says Semillon on the label while N.83 is actually labelled "White Blend", N.84 will read Semillon).

Pale yellow, it springs from the glass with a brilliant nose of crisply delineated white peach, honeydew and guava notes with a kiss of rosemary/mint. With just a bit of air, the aromas are further nuanced with a mandarin minerality and citrus blossom. Fantastic mouthfeel...balanced and fleshy on entry, turning lip-smacking in the mid-palate with minty honeydew melon notes riding chalky acidity to a long, spicy guava and peach-dominated finish.

OG N.84 is a blend of 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. This is an age-worthy and elegant white produced from all-estate fruit and barrel-fermented in neutral French oak. Selling for over $30/bottle out of the winery, it makes a unique and compelling offering for the equivalent of $9/bottle in this mixed case. This would be great with spicy Indian food.

Pale- to medium-yellow. The nose is tightly wound but loosens up in phases that reveal excellent complexity. Peach, pineapple and lanolin are haloed with honeysuckle blossom, sandalwood and a kiss of petrol. With air, starfruit and lemon oil emerge. Warm and viscous on entry, but your palate is swept clean by a knife blade of chalky, apple skin minerality revealing pretty peach and starfruit in a surprisingly long finish. There are gobs of stuffing to this wine and it should age nicely for another 5-8 years.
