Each sampler contains 1 bottle of each:

Lot 228 | 2019 100-Year-Old-Vine Zinfandel "Mokelumne River" Lodi - 100-year-old-vine, Mokelumne River AVA Zinfandel anyone? Medium, deep ruby in the glass. Smoke, spice, and black pepper halo robust plum, raspberry fruit and river rock. As the wines opens up, the black pepper becomes more pronounced with bourbon caramel and blackberry joining the elegant bouquet. The wine is plush yet firm on entry, super-supple and mouth-coating with ample minerality and stem tannin to carry rich red and purple fruit to long, pure finish.

Lot 61 | 2018 Dry Creek Zinfandel - This wonderful Zinfandel comes to us from one of Dry Creeks pioneers. These guys were LEED long before it even existed, their gravity-fed winery ahead of its time. The resulting wines are deftly crafted with what I would call a "pretty richness" or "boutique" style that values balance, harmony, and complexity over extract and power. Gorgeously perfumed with powdery purple blossom and lavender notes mingling with raspberry top notes and blackberry pie with hints of black pepper. Pretty cherry and smoky, meaty notes emerge with air and make it all the more sumptuous. Goddamn this is beautiful stuff. I would call this a Pinot-lovers Zinfandel without hesitation but it has all the structure and stuffing for broad appeal and nice ageing potential to boot.

Lot 108 | 2018 Fair Play District (El Dorado) Zinfandel - This wine is sourced from an extremely well respected producer with deep roots in the region. The wines are very well made with broad stylistic appeal in that they are precisely what you would expect from the region. Dusky, medium ruby. Springs from the glass with dusty plum, blackberry syrup and pepper dominating the nose with just a kiss of raspberry. There is chocolate too but it shows more on the palate where the tootsie roll character envelops the warm, lush palate of black and red fruits in a long, smooth finish. The wine has tremendous balance and very good weight and structure. Drink now or cellar for up to 5-7 years.

A note on shipping: This special 3-pack includes complimentary shipping and ships out as a 3-pack without having to add any more bottles, HOWEVER it will NOT count towards the 12-bottle count for building a mix match bottle shop full case, which waives the cost of shipping NOR will it count towards meeting the 6-bottle bottle shop threshold to complete a purchase.
