The Clare Valley is the spiritual home of Riesling in Australia. It's insane diurnal swing ripens fruit yet allows it to retain its rapier-like acidity which starbursts on your palate in a mineral explosion. Some of the finest examples of the varietal hail from this region.
From the same producer as Lots 340 Clare Valley Cabernet and 342 Clare Valley GTM, this Clare Valley Riesling is an absolute classic from a master of the varietal. Good luck finding this anywhere else in the USA, this wine is gobbled up as a perennial favorite by its core Aussie audience. However, we used our purchasing leverage to get an allocation. As such, I paid more for this wine than the reds but its worth it...just $13/bottle!
