This gem hails from Monterey County, a chilly region with a reputation for producing elegant, highly regarded Pinots with remarkable consistency. As is typical with this region, the combination of quality and value is on full display. Lot 485 is a 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir with Burgundian leanings, sourced from a winery that's been a staple of the Monterey Pinot scene for decades.

On the nose, aromas of rose petal, raspberry coulis, and mushrooms are accented by dried strawberries and forest floor. Upon entry, cherries and strawberry sauce intermingle with dried leaves, framed by balanced acidity and small, crushed tannins. A long, dynamic finale begins with a spiced wave, settling into red berries and a kiss of vanilla before rose hips and vanilla bean overtake the umami.

Monterey Pinot Noir

"My wife and I had this with a grilled salmon and loved it! A light pinot with cherry flavors, great mid palate with smooth finish. A delishish pinot noir!"

Luke M. (5/5)

Great Pinot

"Light, crisp, nice fruit over tones. Little hint of sweetness"

Mary K. (5/5)

Nice Pinot

"I was concerned because I don’t usually like Monterey Pinot, this Pinot was OK but not my favorite. I’d probably rate it as a 3. 7. For me there are so many really good Pinot’s I wouldn’t order this again. Just kind of lack luster."

Randell H. (4/5)

Excellent Choice

"We had this wine with our beef Caesar wraps last night. Excellent pairing."

Robert O. (5/5)

Good wine

"Classic Monterey Pinot, medium body, nice flavors."

Chuck N. (5/5)

Not bad, but not for me

"This is a heavier pinot than I am used to. Not for me, but still a decent sip."

Nicholas J. (3/5)

2023 Monterey County Pinot

"Over the top! Did you say Monterey or Sonoma?"

WILLIAM M. (5/5)

Easy drinking

"We enjoyed this Pinot. Red fruit forward, but a bit thin on the finish, hence only four stars. Overall, well balanced and good offering at the price point."

Robert N. (4/5)

Excellent everyday Pinot

"Very easy to drink and nothing out of balance. Superb value especially for a Pinot."

Adam D. (5/5)

Varietal correct

"My wife and I drink PN. Lots of it primarily from CA AVAs such as Santa Rita Hills, RRV, Santa Barbara, Carneros, and Monterey. This bottle was very good! Nice acidity with plenty of fruit and a touch of earth. The alcohol was in check and blows away anything you’ll find at your local supermarket chain. We have had a great experience with most DeNegoce Pinots and this one is no exception. Cheers!"
