Lot 546 is a precision crafted, 100% single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from a revered high-elevation site. Given the program’s reputation, we’ve agreed to keep even the sub-appellation off our label and declassify it to Sonoma County, but make no mistake – this is an utterly marvelous showcase of top-tier mountain fruit. Our source's approach is to let the grapes dictate the style and allow the terroir to sing.

A brooding deep ruby in the glass, this wine opens with a focused, terroir-driven nose of crushed granite, black cherry, clay dust, and a kiss of mint. The wine stretches out on the palate with a core of dark fruits and earth tones wrapped in dark chocolate and suede, all framed by balanced acidity and small-grained, grippy tannins. In its youth, the finish is barrel-centric with vanilla and spice, but a bit of air reveals red-to-black fruit hiding underneath. Drink in the near term with a healthy decant, or cellar with confidence for graceful development in the years to come.
