Lot 565 is an estate-grown 100% Pinot Meunier from an iconic producer that has been devoted to crafting still single-varietal Pinot Meunier for decades alongside a star lineup of sparkling wines. From prime vineyards in Carneros, they produce a supremely balanced, elegantly structured beauty that’s as varietally correct an expression as you’ll find anywhere across the globe.

The nose announces itself with a vibrant bouquet of cherry, strawberry, and forest floor, with hints of blood orange and rose around the rim. On the palate, mushroom meets additional cherries and dried herbs, with a delicious thread of lingering spice. Framed by bright acidity and small, soft tannins, the wine moves gracefully into a long, barrel-influenced finish with hints of vanilla blossoms, tarmac, and spiced strawberries.

"This is a delicious surprise. First time trying Pinot Meunier and was drawn to the similarities to its more famous cousin, Pinot Noir. Love the funk and barnyard on the nose, smells familiar but the taste was unexpected. Fruit forward with still some tart black berry. Reminded me of an apricot cobbler. Tart but sweet. Balanced and delicious"

"Wanted to try this as I have never had a Pinot Meunier before. Thought it was similar to Pinot Noir and, being part of the champagne blend, I guess my expectations may have been a little out of line.
