It's only thanks to our deep sourcing relationships that we had the opportunity to get at this juice – it simply isn’t found on the open market, and the average wine shopper can’t get their hands on it without a wine club membership allocation at over $50/bottle, or $600+/case.

Lot 451 is a 100% single-vineyard sourced estate Chardonnay, crafted by a winemaker who began their career in the vineyard as an apprentice under the original legendary artisan that helped lay the foundation for what the estate is today. Whole cluster pressed and 100% barrel fermented with native yeasts, the juice goes through partial malolactic fermentation to ensure that the grape’s natural acidity shines alongside its subtle classic California stylings. A barrel program of 20% new wood gives the wine a round presentation while preserving its world-class terroir. An impeccably balanced, extraordinarily graceful expression.

Our price: $19/bottle.

Our source was sustainable long before the term became a buzzword in wine country, winning plenty of local and national awards for their environmental efforts over the years. They continue to innovate in all areas of winemaking and have elevated their farming with artistic precision, carefully matching different varietals with the exact soil types and compositions in which they’ll thrive. Case in point, this Chardonnay was nurtured in loamy soil that provides optimal water retention for balanced growth, fostering the development of a carefully managed vineyard canopy that shields the grapes from excessive heat exposure.

Golden on the pour, the nose is richly scented with classic apples and pears wrapped around a lemon rind core, kissed by butter and baking spice. On the palate, expertly weighted texture showcases medium acidity and beautiful structure, allowing the fruit to shine with perfectly integrated barrel spice components. The finish is delicately presented and persists with incredible length, with clean minerality dispersing florals and citrus before settling into a classic California umami of butter, brioche, and toast.
