Lot 585 is a 94-point James Suckling scored (under our label) masterful blend featuring a Cabernet Sauvignon core with classic Bordelaise varietals and a touch of Zinfandel. Crafted by a stalwart multigenerational family estate with some of the most celebrated vineyards in wine country, it’s a simply wonderful showcase of the terrific 2023 growing season. NDA terms require us to keep mum about exact varietals and percentages (and we had to declassify the label to North Coast for extra brand security).

Medium ruby on the pour, the nose dances out of the glass with a core of chocolate, dried herbs, cherry, and cassis berry haloed by menthol, plum, and crushed florals. On entry, a beam of acidity slices through red fruit and new leather, backed by medium barrel spice and small, velvety tannins. The finish begins with high-toned spice and earth, revealing cherry compote before shifting to broad welcoming waves of vanilla. Still full of youthful energy, this wine promises even more depth and integration with some more bottle age, but if you can’t wait, don’t forget to decant!

The perfect every evening red.

"You know when you are having leftovers, pizza, pasta, or a hamburger at home? This wine hits the mark! It's not intended to be the big red meat or heavy sauces wine. . . it's a very nice everyday wine."

Smooth and delicious

"Not being a wine expert but being a wine lover, I can tell you that this is a very smooth, fruit forward (but not a bomb) well structured red wine, with restrained tannins. We truly enjoy it and will re-order."

An Affordable Everyday Herbaceous Cab

"An herbaceous (rosemary and sage) nose, with cherry, vanilla, tobacco and almond. On the palate, herbs, cherry and plum are underpinned by balanced acidity and grippy tannins. A good medium-bodied everyday Cab to accompany a burger from the grill!"

Nigel B. (4/5)

Wonderful, versatile wine.

"Perfect for outdoor events and warmer temperatures - milder tannins enable it go from paring with beef to backyard bbq's."
