Lot 590 is a single-vineyard, estate-grown 100% Zinfandel from a highly acclaimed family-owned winery. Among their lineup of award-winning Old World-inspired reds, this is one of the region’s finest Reserve bottlings. Hailing from old vines rooted to a hillside site, this beauty possesses a true sense of place, crafted entirely by hand using traditional techniques as a labor of love by a star winemaker with ties to some of the historically great names on the entire North Coast. It’s been a darling of the toughest critics and has made 90s scores routine since its inception.

Elegant yet nicely concentrated on the nose, it opens with refined blackberry and strawberry layered beautifully over cinnamon and sweet tobacco, haloed by dried herbs and plum sauce. On entry, a dry wine with a strong sense of place delivers dark fruit, deeply structured tobacco, crushed gravel, and white pepper spice on center stage, supported by incisive acidity and framed by perfectly integrated uniform tannins. A wondrous finish bursts forth with additional dark fruit and spice, followed by a clean note of crushed rock minerality that eventually reveals waves of vanilla and red-to-black fruit. Equally at home with grilled veggies, barbecue, or a fine cut of steak.
