Description

Lot 547 is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a historic Napa stalwart just off Highway 29, crafted from estate vineyards in Rutherford, Oakville, and Oak Knoll – a combination of some of Napa's finest valley floor terroirs. It’s got Rutherford’s dustiness, Oakville’s power, and Oak Knoll’s freshness. Boasting all the concentration you expect from 2021, it’s built to the nines and very much a masterclass in Napa Valley winemaking. Priced over $100/bottle under its original label, this was already a relative value considering the going rate for comparable wines of this caliber, but as always, we negotiate to deliver vastly more for your dollar than anywhere else in the country – it’s yours today for OVER 70% OFF!

The wine is beautifully concentrated on the pour, with thick, long legs that promise depth. The nose boasts a medley of black currant, tobacco, blackberries, and eucalyptus, underscored by a pronounced minerality and a distinctive dusty character. On entry, a refined structure awaits, offering a seamless integration of red and black fruit complemented by notes of graphite and leather. Its medium+ acidity is reminiscent of fresh cherries, while the tannins are perfectly uniform. The finish is elegant and lingering, unfolding layers of black fruit, vanilla bean, and subtle spice. While it’s just about to enter its prime, this will greatly appeal to both collectors and drinkers alike.

We’ve snagged another beautiful Napa Cabernet from an instant-classic vintage for barely over $25 per bottle!

Our initial window to secure wines from the highly lauded 2021 vintage has long passed, but market dynamics have reopened the door to one of the finest vintages in recent memory. Renowned for their high concentration and natural intensity, many 2021 wines are already available to the public. However, due to shifting market conditions, more producers than usual still have a good amount of 2021s in their cellars, waiting for the market to right itself – a moment they increasingly suspect may not arrive for a while. Better perhaps to monetize now, and that’s where we come in.

Our price: $159/6-pack, $26+/bottle!

A bone-dry winter followed by a warm spring and summer gave way to perfectly mild harvest temps. Peak maturity arrived leisurely. Yields were low, but quality was phenomenal. Our source vinified each lot separately before blending, then aged this gorgeous showpiece of Napa’s iconic soils for 22 months in 100% French oak barrels of the finest cooperage (33% new). Again, we’re delighted that our treasure hunt is leading us to absolute gems like this from such a “small but exceptional” harvest in the valley.
