Lot 570 hails from biodynamic vineyards rooted in volcanic soils over 1,000 feet up in the Mayacamas Mountains. This pure expression of volcanic terroir is crafted with the utmost care by a small family-owned estate. Unsurprisingly, recent vintages were awarded scores in the mid-90s by the usual major publications.

Light ruby on the pour, the wine opens with pure notes of crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, and mountain herbs, layered over crushed stone and aromatic spice. Red fruits and uplifted wild florals define a finely etched palate, framed by a deftly structured volcanic backbone and fine-grained tannins. There’s an unmistakable sense of place, with the rocky slopes clearly expressed in the wine’s mineral drive. The finish lingers with red fruit resonance and savory floral umami, accented by a delicate thread of vanilla. As food-friendly as it is a serious standalone wine, this wine exhibits top-class versatility of the highest order.
