2021 IGT Terre Siciliane Inzolia

Wonderfully herbaceous on the nose with interwoven citrus and nutty characters, it’s not hard to see why this grape is used in Marsala wine production. In a dry white expression, the palate is deftly weighted with medium acidity and further citrus/nutty weaving, bringing to mind the early notes of a Marsala on the palate, but never going full bore into the rich, nutty, viscous, sweet expressions associated with Marsala wines. The finish is clean and dry, showcasing wet stone minerality on the exit. I find Inzolia to be best for fans of Grüner Veltliner or Sauvignon Blanc.

"Similar to a Sauvignon Blanc, this southern Italian white has a smooth taste with a crisp finish. It starts a bit on the fruity side but finishes nice, crisp and dry. It pairs well with chicken, shrimp and pastas as well. This is another great find!"
