Lot 402 | 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Lot 402
2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

$100+out-of-the-tasting-room, beautifully structured, lithe, complex, and, quite frankly, a very sexy offering, this producer typically bottles their $100+ "regular" Cabernet under the Napa Valley appellation even though the main component is comprised of St. Helena estate fruit, then augmented with other AVAs. Your's today for only $35/bottle.

Deep ruby on the pour with an almost impenetrable core, the bouquet is immediate with red-to-blue fruit showing good complexity and concentration across shifting dark fruit undertones that complex with a little air, accented by chocolate, crushed florals, vanilla, eucalyptus, and mint. Needless to say, you can get lost in the glass before the first sip. The entry is at no loss for grabbing your attention too; tobacco, leather, red clay dust, and black fruit are deftly expressed across excellent palate weight, medium acidity, and polished tannins. The finish has exceptional length, barrel-kissed with spices and vanilla uplifting resonating red fruit umami waves.

Napa, Cabernet number 402

"One of my favorite wines because of the earthy, fruity taste!"

Good stuff

"Nice to very nice medium bodied cab - agree with other reviews that it needs more time - will keepy remaining bottles tucked away for a few more years before trying again"

Alexander S. (5/5)

A wonderful Cab!

"Lot 402 is another great, affordable cab from de Negoce. We enjoy many of their wines, but it is the California cabs that brought us to them and will keep us coming back."

Kurt G. (5/5)

Needs to age

"Put it in the cellar for 2-3 years and then ?"
