On offer today is a tantalizing 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from a single-vineyard site in the Sebastopol Hills for 63% OFF the source tasting room price!

These hills are home to some deep cuts on the Pinot playlist; think Littorai and Merry Edwards’ Meredith Estate, and you can count our source among the mix. Under the original label this exact Pinot Noir goes for a very fair asking price (considering the quality) of $60/bottle, $720/case, so needless to say we're stoked to offer it to this list for only $22/bottle!

This corner of the Russian River Valley boasts a perfect microclimate for Pinot: chilly with a stiff breeze. The terrain is rippled by hills, nooks and dips. The soils are fast draining loams which strain the vines, leading to low yields, which create wines of immense concentration. Of note, the region is currently fighting to become a distinct AVA, so who knows, this might be one of the last vintages before the area really starts to blow up (and prices jump too).

The fruit is tended in a vineyard site flanked by old, gnarly fruit trees with the subsequent wine crafted by an owner/winemaker for an on-site, no distribution program with a premium charged if you buy it direct from the tasting room online (no shipping discounts from them, folks). But how did we get it? Same story of late, that good 'ol '23 harvest is quietly pushing great wines out the back doors to make some room, and you know who gets the call.

Lot 414 is an extremely cared for wine: 100% single-vineyard source Pinot Noir, 10% whole cluster, made from Pommard, Calera, and Dijon 828 clones that see 20% new French oak with 12 months in Burgundy barrels with the finest provenance; coming to us straight from their barrels to our bottles. Strawberry, cherry and cola practically leap out of the glass while rose, dragon fruit, and potpourri are bedded underneath, all haloed by classic Red Vines licorice and spice. The palate is wrapped in baby fat that unwinds with some air revealing strawberry coulis, cherries, tobacco leaf, and dried leaves framed by medium+ acidity accenting fresh foraged mushroom umami and small, polished tannins. The finish is barrel-kissed with vanilla and spice carrying waves of plum sauce and rose hips. While youthful today, the structure is here to go a decade+ onwards.
