On offer today is a Pinot-lover’s Pinot from a single site in the Eola-Amity Hills, built to the nines to showcase its exceptional Burgundian-styled terroir with no expense spared, and full up with mid-to-high-90s scores from top-critics year after year for $18/bottle!

This wine didn’t come cheap and it shouldn’t have, after all, it’s of the finest provenance from the source's François Frères barrels, bottled and labeled in-state; all we'll do is pick it up and bring it on home. The juice was crafted by their decorated winemaker who did stints in Burgundy and the Sonoma Coast before landing in the Willamette Valley for a program that fetches upwards of $90/bottle, $1080/case (can't reveal the true price here, sorry folks).

Lot 416 is a 100% hand-harvested single-vineyard designate Pinot Noir grown in fast draining volcanic basalt soils east of the Van Duzer Corridor, allowing cool ocean air to breeze through ensuring longer hang times and better developed fruit. Whole cluster gravity pressed and inoculated with 100% native yeasts, the juice sees 100% François Frères cooperage from Burgundy aiding in its Burgundian profile.

A baby Bourg on the nose; redolent cranberry, plum sauce, mushrooms, cloves, and hibiscus are underpinned by blood orange. The entry is deftly balanced between the medium+ acidity, small, velvety tannins, and a delineated further presentation of everything on the nose, adding spice and vanilla into the fold. The finish is dry and delicate; youthful barrel spice comes back up first, followed by a wave of vanilla blossom, all while cranberries and cherries pine to burst out - a little bottle age will let the finish resolve itself as all the componentry is here, lying in wait.
