Lot 425 | 2021 Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Lot 425
2021 Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon

$55/bottle under the original label

Today's offer hails from a region known for its Zins, however the Cabs are the real sleeper hits. The source winery crafts this Cabernet Sauvignon (blended with a touch of Malbec) into a wine that sells for $672/case. We got a great deal and we're passing the savings to this list.

The nose is redolent with red plum, currant, and cranberry accented by dried herbs, crushed florals, white pepper, cloves, milk chocolate, and wet stones - very complex and nicely perfumed folks. On the palate ripe cranberry and raspberry unfold with medium+ acidity, framed by dry, uniform, grippy tannins with delineated new soft leather and tobacco. The finish is expertly balanced between integrated barrel spices, vanilla bean, and ripe red fruit umami.

I had a tough time

"I had a tough time with this cab, especially on the first day when there was an overwhelming scent of leather, even after a few hour decant. On the second day it had settled down and red fruit flavous opened up, but I don't plan to open another bottle for another year minimum."

Great Cab! Great Price!

Excellent smoothie full body

"And very reminiscent of another Rockpile that we are also a fan of (albeit at a much higher price from our wine club!)"
