Rockpile AVA is as rugged as it is remote and ideal for Cabernet. Tucked into the Northwest corner of Sonoma County, Rockpile ranges from 800-2400 ft. in elevation. Fast draining soil, a steady wind from the Pacific, and almost complete lack of fog create extremely dry growing conditions that yield small thick-skinned berries of high-concentration and higher quality.

Lot 425 comes to us from a state-of-the-art winemaking facility, a decorated winemaking team, and it's 97% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3% Rockpile Malbec aged in 100% French oak with 30% new, medium toast barrels.

The nose is redolent with red plum, currant, and cranberry accented by dried herbs, crushed florals, white pepper, cloves, milk chocolate, and wet stones - very complex and nicely perfumed folks. On the palate ripe cranberry and raspberry unfold with medium+ acidity, framed by dry, uniform, grippy tannins with delineated new soft leather and tobacco. The finish is expertly balanced between integrated barrel spices, vanilla bean, and ripe red fruit umami.

97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec
100% Rockpile AVA 2021 Vintage
100% French oak, 30% new wood
