Lot 440 comes to us from a Napa-based source that uses this Viognier in their White Rhône blend program. This year they had a little too much, and we got the call. It was so delicious on its own, we had to snatch it up and we're passing the savings along to you.

Available for purchase in the U.S. only excluding AL, AK, AR, DE, HI, MS, ND, RI, UT, WV.
Our first ever Clarksburg AVA release!

In the heart of the Sacramento River Delta nestled between rivers, marshes, and sloughs, trellises of 30-year-old Viognier vines thrive. But their fruit isn't easy to procure - most of Clarksburg's grapes get gobbled up by top producers in Napa and Sonoma looking to bolster some of their pricier programs.

Clarksburg AVA boasts a perfect climate for the fussy Viognier grape. A diurnal shift allows for long hang time and optimal ripeness. The days are warm. The nights are cooled by fog and what the locals call "The Delta Breeze" - cold air from the Pacific rushing east over the San Francisco and San Pablo Bays.

Lot 440 is fermented in stainless steel to preserve Viognier’s vibrant aromas. Briefly sur lie, then transferred to 100% neutral French oak to round it out. Weighing in at a mild 14.1% alc., this is a bold yet balanced white wine.

Expressive nose of tangerine and white peach, interwoven with honeysuckle and yellow rose petals. On the palate, this wine is mouthwatering with vibrant acidity and supernova notes of mango, beeswax, and white florals leading into a kiss of spice. The finish is long, round, and beautiful, with toast and additional spice leading into uplifted peach resonance.
