Lot 442 | 2023 Mokelumne River Pinot Gris 750ml

Lot 442
2023 Mokelumne River Pinot Gris

750ml

$32/bottle under the original label

Lot 442 isn’t easy to procure on the open market because our source doesn’t make their wines available through retail – it’s tasting room or wine clubs only. Under the original label, it’s $32/bottle, $384/case before shipping, but as we’re seeing more and more these days, a bountiful ’23 harvest has wineries all over California a bit more willing to offer quiet deals on previously unavailable lots.

Pear, apple, and peach define a nose nestled in crushed gravel, kissed by honey. The entry is expertly weighted and framed by medium+ acidity, showcasing further apple and pear with raw ginger spice and lemon zest. The finish is clean and medium length, with the ginger spice brushed by lemon blossom umami. Come spring and summer, it will pair perfectly with grilled fish or chilled oysters.

Great Summer Sipper

"Cameron’s tasting notes nailed it. Pale straw in the glass. Apple, white peach and slight spice. Round mouthfeel with a mouthwatering finish. Paired well with steamed chicken and vegetable dumplings and chilled shrimp with a variety of dipping sauces (Chinese mustard, Thai chili sweet and duck sauce)."
