Lot 457 | 2022 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Lot 457
2022 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

750ml

$60+/bottle under the original label

Our Cabernet hunt takes us back to one of the premier sub-appellations in Sonoma – Knights Valley – with a declassified single-vineyard old vine Cabernet Sauvignon from a site nestled at the base of Mt. St. Helena. NDA terms from the Napa-based source dictated that we couldn’t print Knights Valley on the bottle.

Black currant and red fruits are woven seamlessly with dark chocolate and graphite on the nose. The entry is a wonderful blend of cranberries and cherries accented by clay pot dust, layered over medium acidity and medium-grained, uniform tannins. The finish is long, with elegant spice and red fruit umami that leads to violets and vanilla blossoms.

Reviews

Solid weekday quaffer

"I'm very partial to Knight's Valley fruit and this did not disappoint. It seems a bit closed in at this point to me, warranting a 1-2 hr. decant, or another year or two in cellar. Good fruit and length, not overly extracted, a nice accompaniment to simple grilled meats, e. g. lamb loin chops."

Nice Cab

"A medium body Cab with a pleasant bouquet. A dry red with little tannins. Very nice wine."

— Randy O. (4/5)

Very nice, smooth Cab

"This is a very good cab, although for my taste some of the other 2022 De Negoce cabs have been a little better, so I can't give it 5 stars. Probably deserves a 4. 5 star rating though. Nicely balanced with good fruit, pretty much what I've come to expect from a Sonoma Cab."

Great value

"This is a nice Cab that is not overdone with vanilla, so it’s a terrific everyday wine for the price."
