Lot 477 is a 100% single-vineyard Chardonnay from a historic site rooted to heritage Wente clones. As pure an expression of Chardonnay as you’ll find on this side of the Atlantic, it’s an electric rendition of the Burgundian grape.

Immediately permeating the glass, the nose is terroir-driven with chalk, mineral, toast, and a touch of flint accompanied by citrus and roasted almonds. The entry impresses upon first sip with blossoms followed by juicy apples and pears, leading into fresh butter and a kiss of spice. An extended, well-rounded finish adds additional blossom, citrus, and fresh cream buoyed by a strong umami burst. Delightful.
