Lot 497
2022 Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

750ml

Lot 497 is a 100% estate Cabernet Sauvignon bombshell made by a team of winemakers with some of the highest pedigree in the industry. One of the most impressive Cabs we’ve tasted all year, we’re not allowed to disclose the original price, but it’s readily over $200/bottle, $2400/case (if you’re even able to get access). As always, we aim to overdeliver on value. After all, where else in America are you even going to come close to finding a comparable wine to this under $50/bottle?

A deep, inviting bouquet rises out of the glass, boasting dark cherries, concentrated raspberries, and blackcurrant, underpinned by dark chocolate, leather, clay dust, and a whisper of red bell pepper. The entry is supremely refined, showcasing cherries, baking spices, cocoa nib, vanilla, and a touch of cedar interwoven with medium acidity and plentiful, grippy tannins. A spiced, resonant finish seems to linger on forever. Do yourself a favor – pop this bad boy, give it a healthy decant, and serve it with your favorite steak (but save some for your cellar, obviously).

"Great Cabernet Savignon from Diamond Mountain, Napa Valley. This esteemed area is well-known, despite the fact that it produces less than 3% of the entire production of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The name of Diamond Mountain comes from the distinctive obsidian-like material in the soil. This is a bold wine with significant tannins, which will only get better with time. The wine is dark with forward black fruit flavors of cherry and blackberry. There are earthy nuances of tobacco, leather, and minerality in good balance. Nice essence of vanilla enhances this wine. Decant wine while young. Should age beautifully over long period of time. One of my favorite offerings from. De Négoce."
