Lot 524 | 2023 Anderson Valley Gewürztraminer 750ml

Lot 524
2023 Anderson Valley Gewürztraminer

750ml

$35/bottle under the original label

Lot 524 is a revelation: a dry, 100% estate-grown Gewürztraminer reminiscent of an Alsatian Grand Cru. Showing a supreme balance of aromatics, flavor, and texture, it’s rich and full-bodied, yet also somehow crisp and refreshing – a harmony only achieved through fruit grown in world-class terroir and obviously masterful winemaking. Consistently cooler weather in 2023 produced some of the highest quality fruit this century.

A deep and radiant golden hue beckons you into the glass, where expressive and vibrant aromas of lychee and white peach mingle with rose water and wet stones. On the palate, vivid tropical fruit flavors mesh with tangerines and lemon, crescendoing into a delicate, uplifted ginger spice framed by seamlessly balanced acidity and clean minerality. The refined finish is drier than it lets on, with subtle hints of white florals and lingering ginger riding a clean, medium-length finish. This bottle disappears very quickly.

One of my favorites

"I really love this De Negoce bottle and have ordered it a few times. My go-to bottle of white."

Not too sweet

"Some Gewurztraminer wines are too sweet for my taste. This one paired well with spicy Asian food without dowsing the flavors with sweetness. We are stocking up"

Joseph M. (4/5)

Yes, way!

"My first reaction was to say ‘no way’. But yes, there is a way. Tasted like I was on the Rhine."

Frank F. (4/5)

Anderson Valley Gewurtztraminer

"This wine is refreshing and delicious. It is not sweet but rather starts fruity and finishes dry which we really enjoyed."

Susan S. (5/5)

Tastes like an Anderson Valley Gewurz!!

"I've tasted Anderson Vallery Gewurzes(?) for many years and I am partial to the combination of location, grape, and winemaking style. This hits all criteria. Bravo."

Daniel H. (5/5)

Great find! Ordering more today.

"We weren't sure what to expect when ordering this; we were hoping it wasn't too sweet. What a great find - not too sweet and a great addition to our white rotation. Ordering more today."

Ty R. (5/5)

Sweet but not too sweet

"We both enjoy this wine especially with spicy Asian dishes which complement them nicely. Not overly complicated but enjoyable."

Thomas L. (4/5)

Classic expression

"Gwertz isn’t for everyone including my wife but a good example is a refreshing change. This fits the bill: spicy, floral ( think honeysuckle) not too sweet and great price."

Dan B. (4/5)

Beautiful Wine

"Lovely white wine"

Tom C. (5/5)

Light and lively

"Should have bought more of these tasty beauties from the Anderson Valley. Had with a curry, and later with Thai. Great combinations. Next time I will."
