Lot 528
2023 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

750ml

Over $60/bottle under the original label

Lot 528 is an estate-grown, 100% single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from a plot located high up in one of the most coveted enclaves in the region, artfully crafted by a very acclaimed winemaker. A local artisan with decades of experience, his innate understanding of the area's nuances (coupled with a marvelous vintage) has resulted in a wine that wears its power with immense grace.

On the pour, this wine reveals a deep, concentrated hue. Aromas of cherries, plums, and cassis mingle with clay dust and new leather, enveloped by a halo of eucalyptus and potting soils. The entry is elegant yet powerful, with an almost weightless palate and dark, robust fruits offset by crushed gravel and a vibrant minerality supported by plush, medium-grained tannins. The finish unfolds with a bit of uplifted spice, giving way to waves of florals, vanilla, and dark cherries.

just okay

"This wasn't a favorite of mine. Maybe too high in tannins? It is tasting better as it decants a bit."

Eat with Red Meat

"For the price you're paying this wine is solid. It's all relative. I ate a giant NY Strip accompanied with this lot and was satisfied."

Great Paso Cab

"Love this bottle! Black and red fruits, great body with medium tannins, and it’s not “trying too hard” like a lot of Napa Cabs to be big. Great with skirt steak tonight, I got a case and will get more for everyday and steak nights. The high elevation source makes a big difference in Paso Robles."
