Lot 529
2023 Napa Valley Red Blend

750ml

$60/bottle under the original label

Lot 529 is a 90-point James Suckling scored (under our label) love letter to Bordeaux – like its Left Bank muse, the blend is anchored by robust Cabernet Sauvignon and enhanced by additional reds – Cab Franc and Petit Verdot in this particular case. Showcasing a New World nose with an Old World palate and finish, it was born out of a veteran winemaker’s desire to showcase the breadth of Napa’s terroir. Produced by a blue-chip multigenerational family estate, the Meritage designation has been declassified (and exact blend percentages withheld) so we could land you an unparalleled steal.

Pouring an elegantly ruby hue, the wine opens with an expressive nose of cherries, blue fruit, baking spice, graphite, white pepper, and a halo of white florals with earthen clay pot. The entry is terroir-focused, opening with crushed gravel, red fruit, and wet stone before giving way to barrel-kissed notes of vanilla, spice, and new leather. Medium+ acidity interplays seamlessly with grippy tannins. A long, dry finish begins with vanilla bean and earth, dancing over dark fruit tones that will continue to emerge with some bottle age. Drink now with a very healthy decant, but make sure to save a few – the best is yet to come.

Nice Everyday Wine

"For a young wine it opens up nicely when pouring through an aerator. It’s a step down from the older proprietary reds DeNegoce offers, but it’s also priced lower."

Great red blend

"Fans of Negoce red blends. They never disappoint. This one is smooth easy to drink and goes well with appetizers or fish dishes. (We’re pescatarians!!)"

Red Blend Gem

"The recent Red Blends continue to impress me. Broad fruit flavors, i. e. great complexness, with spice and light smokiness. Smooth, nicely balanced, and rich enough to pair perfectly with our smoked ribs. Great value price too."

Steven T. (5/5)

Excellent red blend. Strong great

"Excellent red blend. Strong great flavors of dark berries and tobacco on the nose to the finish, low tannin, very smooth, and easy to drink with appetizers and any meal. Perfect for me. Pour from the bottle and enjoy!"

Mac R. (5/5)

Very Nice Red Blend

"The recent crop of Red Blends from DN have been excellent, and this one is no different. It drinks like a typical Meritage to me, but at about 1/2 the cost or less. old with a ton of nuance. Highly recommend"

Brian N. (5/5)

"Goood wine and easy to drink."

Gary B. (5/5)

Loved it

"These are my real "sophisticated" tasting notes I wrote down for this lot: "Red Blend. Woah. Tasty. Cherry notes. This is a good one. " Go buy it."
