Lot 531
2023 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

750ml

$65/bottle under the original label

Lot 531 is a world-class single-vineyard stunner from a legendary property that’s one of the most renowned and highly regarded sites in all the Russian River Valley. As pure an expression of terroir as you’ll find on this side of the Atlantic, our source has been home to exquisite Pinot for decades, with recent ’21 and ’22 releases garnering 96/95-point scores from the major household names. Given the reputation of the ’23 vintage, this batch is likely destined for even loftier marks.

Divinely concentrated on the pour, it exudes a Burgundian sensibility with refined complexity and elegance. Aromatics unfold in layers, with a nose brimming with rose petals, spiced cherries, and blood orange intertwined with fresh-turned soil, strawberry sauce, dried leaves, and a whisper of potpourri. A vibrant palate sings with raspberries, terroir-driven cherry-like acidity, incredible weight, delicate spice, and supple tannins. The fresh, barrel-kissed finish promises immense potential for years to come. For those who want to enjoy it in its youth, a generous decant is highly recommended.

Full blown

"This wine is light, but beautiful in color. The nose is complex and substantial. The pallet is introduced with a lovely strawberry rhubarb compote impression with Rose petal nuances-and finishes with intensity and strength. Surprising depth, and length of finish make this a Russian river All-Star."

Beautifully balanced, excellent value

"Beautiful RRV Pinot. Initial thought when poured was that it looks really light in the glass. But more lush on the palate than the color in the glass indicates. Beautiful classic Pinot fruit."

Adam D. (5/5)

Pair with food

"Solid RR pinot noir, soft tannins, plenty of acidity for pairing with food"

My Fave Pinot So Far!

"I am new to De Negoce, and this is the first bottle I tried that I am really enthusiastic about - I like a fruit-forward pinot that is ready to drink, and this one makes me happy."

Lot 531…. River Valley Pinot noir.

"Another well- priced gem. Four of us shared the bottle and all were very pleased with its length, color, and taste. Well worth buying a few more bottles. Sarah."

Pinotlicious

"I'm a picky Pinot drinker. This bottle was perfect for my palate. Light and no hint of sweetness like many Pinot's. Thoroughly enjoyed."

Great taste

"This was a a wonderful Pinot noir that added so much to the beef dinners it supported."

Alan K. (5/5)

Terrior forward pinot

"Great pinot. Lots of terrior here. The only reason I rated 4/5 instead of 5/5 is that I wish I would have let it aged more. Will buy again!"

Just an average Pinot.

"Hard to pick up any aroma. Color beautiful. Not much fruit on the taste and very little after taste. Overall just an average Pinot."

Oh no disappointed

"We tasted this with great excitement as we are big fans of Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs. This one disappointed as we could only pick up a subtle taste of cherry and not much else. We set aside the bottle to give it more time to open up hoping for improvement after 24 hours but, unfortunately, didn't see much change. Not the abundance of fruit flavors we enjoy in our Pinots; just flat. Sorry this one missed."
