Description

Lot 573 is a 100% estate-grown Chardonnay from a historic winery nestled in the heart of Napa Valley just off Highway 128. While many neighbors have chased over-the-top house styles, our source has stayed true to their philosophy of crafting balanced wines that honor the land and varieta. Crafted using traditional winemaking methods and only the best fruit that made the cut, this wine saw no oak or malolactic, and sur lie aging imbued it with perfect texture. It's a divinely balanced white wine with wonderful finesse that's sold under its original legendary label around $50/bottle (though you’ve undoubtedly seen it for much more in wine shops and on restaurant lists) – today it's available for over 70% OFF!

A vivid nose abounds with wonderfully concentrated golden apples, lemon curd, star fruit, and fresh-sliced pear, accented by white blossoms and saline. An expertly weighted and seductively creamy palate delivers an electric beam of acidity perfectly integrated with delicate spice and an encore of lemon curd. The finish is long and umami-laden, unfolding with citrus, apple, and florals in splendid harmony.

Of the ~475 wineries in Napa, only about a dozen can legitimately stake a claim at being the region’s standard bearer for Chardonnay. Fortunately for this list, we’ve secured access to a producer worthy of belonging on the Mount Rushmore of Napa Chardonnay. Even if you include the best of Sonoma and Mendocino (and the rest of California while you’re at it), our source is still getting carved into the mountain. It’s not hyperbole to say they had a huge role in elevating Napa Valley’s place on wine’s global stage, and we’re extremely proud to present this wine to you as our first Napa Valley Chardonnay from the stellar 2024 vintage.

As you know, labels only mean so much – it always comes down to what’s in the bottle. Today’s offer lives up to its legend: one of the finest expressions of Chard we’ve come across all year, this icon has been acquired for you at a jaw-dropping price of barely $13/bottle!

The foundation for any great wine is great fruit, and our source left no stone unturned to ensure they have the best. Besides pioneering vineyards in areas that others casually dismissed, they’ve been on the forefront of sustainability – all their vineyards are certified organic, and best-in-class farming practices ensure they have some of the healthiest soils and vines in the valley. During the wonderful 2024 growing season, their vines yielded concentrated fruit that retained gobs of vibrant acidity, and by the time harvest arrived, this wine’s greatness was all but assured. An Old-World minimal intervention approach in the cellar led it across the finish line. The rest is history…
