Lot 576 is a 94-point James Suckling scored (under our label) estate-grown, single-vineyard Pinot Noir from a boutique local winery. In Burgundian tradition, the entire raison d’être of this establishment is to showcase their estate vineyard’s cool-climate coastal terroir as purely as possible, and you can taste the ocean air while walking the vineyard rows clinging to steep slopes hundreds of feet above the Pacific. Meticulously hand-crafted in small lots with extremely limited distribution, this is a small but mighty artisan program, with previous vintages earning high praise and mid-90s scores.

A beautiful expression of mountain Pinot Noir opens with a classic bouquet of cherry, raspberry, clove, and wild mushroom haloed by vanilla blossoms and a lift of cranberry brightness. The entry is sublime and terroir-driven – earth, potpourri, and forest floor are woven amidst tart cherry, blood orange, and dried herbs, all framed by uplifted acidity and plenty of small, polished tannins. The finish is long and impeccably refined, revealing delicate spice, crushed minerality, and lingering impressions of strawberries, violets, and fresh-sliced vanilla bean. A poised wine with precision and grace.

Yummy Pinot Noir

"I'm with the crowd on this Pinot Noir. Let it air a bit and nice fresh cherry flavors and soft tannins. Paired wonderfully with grilled chicken thighs. Will buy more."

Light Pinot

"This wine seems to get rave reviews, so maybe I’m off-base in my palate. While it was nice, it was too light for my preference. I think it would go well in a hot day, lightly chilled."

John M. (4/5)

Who knew, great Pinots can come from the Santa Cruz Mtns?

"I was reluctant to buy this Pinot because it wasn't from the classic spots like Sonoma or Santa Barbara. However I decided to give it a try and I was so glad I did! This wine is amazing, and surprising good. It has all the characteristics of a classic Pinot: light, a fresh bouquet on the nose, fruit on the palate, and a smooth finish. It will hold up to much more expensive fancier Pinots from the classic regions. I highly recommend!"

Mike S. (5/5)

A Pinot Noir sleeper

"I live in Sonoma Valley and we have some great Pinot grown all the way to the coast. But who would’ve thought Santa Cruz mountains. Bingo! Let it breathe in the glass for a few minutes."

WILLIAM M. (5/5)

A wonderful bottle

"The Santa Cruz region is small and intense and this 2024 Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir is no exception. I may need another case to lay around as I keep opening a bottle with friends."

Michael J. (5/5)

Very nice Pinot

"A vibrant, high-altitude Pinot with real character. Aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, and mountain herbs rise immediately from the glass. The palate is energetic and bright, with lively acidity and fine, silky tannins. A hint of minerality carries through the finish. A distinctive Pinot that captures the freshness and tension of the Santa Cruz Mountains."

The twin of a classic West Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

"I thought I was tasting a great West Sonoma Coast pinot noir when I pulled the cork on this wine. A light burgundy-like taste with tamed smooth tannins. Delicious!"

Robert W. (5/5)

Good, but not great

"Solid, but not memorable for me."

Nicholas J. (3/5)

Lighter Weeknight Pinot

"Lighter in the glass, opens up well with a little patience. Enjoy"

James M. (5/5)
