Lot 578 is an ambitious 100% single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Carved into the Santa Lucia Mountains high above sea level, our source’s vines yield wonderfully concentrated yet balanced fruit, which their winemaker crafts into a bottling that’s unmistakably California but with Bordeaux in its soul. Given the litany of big names in every direction, we’ve agreed to declassify it from Adelaida District to Paso Robles in order to make the deal happen.

Pouring a dense crimson in the glass, the wine opens with aromas of mulberry and dark raspberry layered with pencil shavings, cherries, and savory herbs. The palate is full yet composed, combining ripe fruit depth with freshness and a firm mineral backbone. Fine tannins carry the structure seamlessly, leading to a persistent and evolving finish that shifts from baking spice to subtle toast and lingering red fruits. Classic.

Paso Robles 2023 not to be missed

"I was alerted that this was a year for cabs not to be missed. Our case arrived and the alert was right on. A delicious wine indeed! This Paso Robles gem was great a week after arriving. Good but not too intense tannins, with a smooth finish. Great to drink alone or with food. I think I'll order another case!"

Wow, what a great Cab

"Buy this while you can if you're a Cabernet lover. Full bodied but so smooth and what an after taste! Absolute perfection."

2023 Paso Robles Cab

"Much like Sonoma Cabs, a good wine to drink every day at a lower cost."

Big Red

"Ware huge fans of the Paso Robles’s wine country. This wine does not disappoint. Big bold and spicy. Nice finish. Many of the Paso Robles wines are jammy from the intense grapes and this is no exception. We love it!"
