Lot 600
2023 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 12-bottle case
Description
Lot 600 hails from one of America’s most iconic vineyard sites, tended by a blue chip producer whose reputation and influence is nothing short of the gold standard in Napa Valley. Among the dominant power players of the region, our source sits in a small group of its most fabled benchmarks, and has a long record of 95+ point wines from critics every year. With an acquisition of this caliber we obviously can’t disclose pricing, but like our recent Oakville release before it, if we referenced $130+, that plus sign would be doing a lot of heavy lifting (and that’s only if you were on the right allocation list). Considering this kind of pedigree and vintage quality, it’s an unbelievable opportunity for even the most seasoned Cab Collector. Now, that opportunity is yours at well over 80% OFF!
The bouquet opens elegantly with black licorice, cherries, and savory, dusty earth, gradually unfurling accents of dark fruits, cassis, and distinct minerality. On the palate, the darker fruits persist in a remarkably dry presentation and are joined by tobacco leaf, rustic leather, and a flicker of pepper spice, all uplifted by medium+ acidity and fresh, full-grained tannins. The finish is long and persistent, echoing with baking spice, freshly sliced vanilla bean, blackberries, and that dusty Rutherford je ne sais quoi that defines the appellation’s greatness. This has a long life ahead of it, so a healthy decant is recommended for near-term drinking.
