Lot 175 is the sibling to Lot 150 and every bit as good - maybe better if you like a bit more muscle in your Cabernet. A blend of 73% Red Mountain and 23% Walla Walla fruit, it is derived from some of the best vineyards in both regions and aged in approximately 60% new French oak. Similar to Lot 150, it's a blend we assembled from programs ranging from $50+ to $80+/bottle Reserve Lots.

Thanks to the Columbia Valley appellation (we would need 85% Red Mountain to make the RM appellation), I am able to offer this to you at an incredible price of $19. I'm working super-lean on the first tranche so now is a phenomenal opportunity to own some of the best 2019 Cabernet out of Washington State for a song.

The story of Lot's 150 and 175 started on our trip up to Washington State late last summer. Word got around that we had tidied up many a cellar and we were invited back to peruse the expansive cellars of another high-end producer. Here we found a treasure trove of largely pre-assembled barrel lots of Cabernet Sauvignon from some of Red Mountains finest vineyards like Ciel du Cheval, Quintessence, and Klipsun not to mention the producer's own estate vineyard. Lot 175 combines fruit from Walla Walla's legendary Seven Hills Vineyard as well.

We finalized two wines, the first of which is OG Lot 150 2019 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. The second of which is Lot 175 Columbia Valley (73% Red Mountain/27% Walla Walla). The structure has a bit more heft than Lot 150 so we kept it in barrel for a few more months and bottled it on June 7th.

A combination of barrel lots from programs that range from $50/bottle (~70% of blend) up to the mid-$80's (~30% of the blend), the resulting wine combines the ethereal elegance of Red Mountain with the power of Walla Walla hillside fruit.

Dark garnet in the glass. Beautifully lifted aromas of violets and black cherry/blackberry contrast with darker and more mysterious tones of dark earth, graphite, mulled cinnamon and crushed red rock. Excellent complexity. The silky texture is layered with fruit and chewy tannins supported by vibrant acidity punctuated with lightly toasted wide-grain French oak. Fantastic balance, power and elegance from a terrific vintage.
