2019 Horse Heaven Hills Merlot (Gold Medal)

Opaque, almost inky in the glass. Great extraction and color. The nose is brooding and graphitic with dense black fruit and earth simmering below the surface. Oh, boy, there's lots to come here. Spicy on entry with gobs of dense black fruit riding a robust tannin framework to long, richly textured and powerful finish. Swaddled in baby fat, Lot 205 is actually quite delicious right now and has a tremendous future.
