Lot 239 | 2018 Central Coast GSM 750ml

Lot 239 | 2018 Central Coast GSM 750ml

Back up the truck folks...this offer will be the stuff of legends!

Comprised of fruit from Chelle Mountain vineyard in York Mountain sub-AVA of Paso Robles, Jespersen and Murmur Vineyard's in Edna Valley and the legendary Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria (basically a who’s who of ultra-premium Rhone production on the Central Coast) and produced by a small, boutique outfit, this is another no-expense-spared production from a winemaker who's day job includes making $100+ Rhone varietals for one of the cult wineries of the Central Coast.

And, while the 2017 version of this wine sells for over $50+ out of the tasting room, Lot 239 can be yours today for just $14/bottle.

Lush and hedonistic but perfectly balanced and absolutely seamless, the chocolate cherry truffle mid-palate explosion of this GSM cellar defender extraordinaire is something to behold.

Opaque in the glass with a deep garnet rim. Right out of the bottle offers plums, saline and iron adding chocolate covered cherry, raspberry jam and savory umami with a bit of air. Amazing for a wine just bottled. However, the palate is where all the action is with dark chocolate cherry truffle, lavender, crushed walnuts, and dark earth announcing an explosive entry that is fabulously rich yet absolutely seamless, resolving into a mineral finish of rock and graphite with a whisper of herbs de provence and lingering umami/walnut, red and black plums fruit and a little Christmas date cake spice.

I cannot stress enough the seamlessness, exquisite balance, richness, depth and phenomenal oak integration here...this wine will definitely punch your yummy button!
