Lot 241 | 2019 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

$150/bottle under the original label

Lot 241 2019 Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon comes to us from one of my favorite vineyards and winemakers. In fact, I used to source fruit from this vineyard many years ago for some high-end wines we produced at the old CHWine. There is no doubt it is one of the finest vineyards in the Coombsville AVA.

The Cabernet's from this vineyard are renowned for their meaty intensity, sophisticated elegance, and purity not to mention tremendous finesse due in large part to the deft-hand of their winemaker - a legend in their own right. Selling out of the winery for around $150 to $250/bottle, yours today for $40.

Deep purple/opaque in the glass. Lavender and medium-toast oak notes halo meaty blackberry, juicy red currant, and crushed red rock. Graphite, toffee and hints of black pepper are complexed with cedar/humidor notes and vanilla. The wine is plush on entry but powerfully structured with robust, chewy tannins supporting palate staining black and red fruits arrayed over minerally, mouthwatering tannins that gives the wine exceptional lift. Phenomenal!

The open knit nature of the 2019 vintage is on full display here. This is a wine that will drink beautifully in its youth and age beautifully as well.
