Lot 243 | 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

$300/bottle under the original label

Lot 243 is four barrels of phenomenal "knock-out" 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from a $300+/bottle program sourced from Houyi Vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The 2019 barrel sample has a 95 to 97-point score from Vinous.com. Its the priciest wine I've bought this year. Not much more to say is there?

Glass-staining squid ink. Gobs of brooding blackberry jam, spice and oak mingle with mountain garrigue and dark spices in a monumental yet monolithic bouquet. Hugely rich and palate-staining with massive, ripe tannins wrapped in dark fruit, chocolate and oak. This is pretty much all oak (100% new French) and black fruit at this time but its all there. Finish is a good minute or two. Boom.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon currently and likely to bottle that way but final blend TBD
100% new French oak
~15% alc - final % TBD
Bottled August 19th, 2021
