91-POINTS JAMES SUCKLING
Aromas of crushed red and black cherry, blackcurrant and red licorice. Medium-to full-bodied with silky tannins. Bright acidity on the palate with earthy, black tea undertones. Drink now.

Lot 253 is the big brother to Lot 255 (you can ignore the 255 in the image above). The producer would only sell it to us as "Napa Valley" but, at 88%, the wine qualifies as Coombsville appellation (with a splash of Mt. Veeder Cabernet thrown in for additional structure).

Similar in style to Lot 255, Lot 253 Cabernet Sauvignon is a cut above - ridiculously juicy and delicious (totally emblematic of the 2019 vintage style) but with unparalleled purity, complexity, and structure. It sees 70% new French oak and retails for $90-$100/bottle.

Deep garnet in the glass. Candied and focused, the bouquet is dynamite possessing rare floral aromas of violets and dried rose petals, mingling with perfectly ripe raspberry, juicy black cherry, sandalwood, pipe tobacco, and holiday spices of clove and cinnamon. It truly shines on the palate though...silky, sexy and energetic with raspberry and black cherry riding ultra-fine tannin to a resplendent finish. Aromatic cedar and spruce complex the finish brilliantly. Boom!
