If Cabernet Franc gets more earthy and ethereal in Walla Walla, Petit Verdot gets more muscular and robust. This dense, meaty wine is a chewy, delicious take on the varietal. Sourced from the same producer as N. 74 and N. 75 Syrah, this is a first class winery and a terrific effort in a terrific vintage. There are only 150 cases available.
Inky, dense and virtually opaque in the glass. The aromas are dense too with smoky graphite, mineral, meaty black fruit and cardamom spice. Huge and chewy on the palate with robust mouth-coating tannins powering through a lip-smacking, teeth-staining finish. Fantastic structure and balance.
