Barrel-fermented in 100% new French oak, this Rutherford single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is a stunning wine. Produced by one of Napa Valley's premier consulting winemakers, its gorgeously scented and electric on the palate offering layer upon layer of intense fruit and beautiful mineral. Normally $60+, its a steal at $20/bottle. We will bottle just a little over 100 cases of this and, I have to say, its not cheap. But, I promise you, if the style sounds intriguing to you, you'll find the wine is amazing. I have no problem saying this is one of the best SB's in Napa Valley if not California. Reminds me of the Robert Mondavi Oakville Reserve SB's I tasted in the early 90's as a sales rep using my 40% off intra-winery discount (which, sadly, no longer exists) but better.
Incredible nose of white flowers, orange marmalade, and smoky orchard fruit with a kiss of mint to top it off. Fleshy and viscous on entry but amply supported by vibrant acidity, this wine offers wave after wave of richness and depth. Glorious.
