This is an absolutely gorgeous Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir.
Whole-cluster-fermented and finished in neutral oak, this wine is impressive for its purity. Pretty aromas of strawberry puree and spicy black cherry give way to vanilla-kissed raspberry and cola notes. Rhubarb and underbrush are supported on sappy, lip-smacking acidity in a long, sustained finish haloed with lilac and rose petals.
Elegant and complex, it strikes a beautiful balance between perfectly ripe fruit and balanced structure. Its no wonder this same wine scored a 92 from the Wine Spectator under its original label with a $45 price tag.
