The Carmel Valley AVA is not known as a cool-climate but this immediately north-adjacent vineyard to the Carmel Valley AVA border vineyard has nothing in common with the warmer valley influence. High-elevation and windblown with an incredible diurnal swing, this uplifted seabed, shale and chalky sandstone site is more reminiscent of the extreme sites of the Sta. Rita Hills with temps that rarely rise above the 70's.
