Lot 50 | 2018 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

GOLD MEDAL - 93 Points | LA International Wine Competition 2022

Its become a tradition of mine to celebrate significant numbers with significant wines. And, while we've far surpassed 50 releases already, OG N.50 represents a milestone for De Négoce sourcing. I decided early on, after watching this wine evolve in the bottle over an entire week, that this 2018 Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon would make a fantastic N.50 release. Our team traveled to Walla Walla last month and assembled the final blend in conjunction with the winery while using all estate components.

Produced by an estate vineyard and winery, this producer effectively put Washington state on the map. Their $120 to $160+ Cabernet Sauvignon’s score in the mid-to-high-90's pretty much year-in, year-out. This Cabernet is nothing short of spectacular and will age 20-30 years when properly cellared. Dark and inky in the glass. The dense, brooding nose features savory, graphitic blackberry and black cherry fruit mingling with sage and sandalwood spice. With air, blackcurrant, leather and cedar join the mix. Massive and broad yet smooth and polished across the palate with expansive, powdery tannins supporting an amalgam of black and red fruits framed by tobacco and dark chocolate. Incredible acidity supports the longevity of this dynamite Cabernet.

Check-in tasting 6.23.21 - No TOUCHY! This wine is an impenetrable wall of tannin even with a couple days of micro-ox. There is an epic wine here, however, that will age another 20-25 years so be patient.
