2018 Sonoma Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep ruby in the glass with a pale purple rim. Dark and brooding nose of graphite, lavender, and dark fruit at first but with air the red rock minerality and pretty cherry fruit emerge, hinting at things to come. This beauty is supple and racy on entry with the fruit swaddled in hillside baby-fat. With maceration one can get the black cherry and black tea so clearly some decanting is in order here. Plenty of length and the precision. Bottled on 8/26/20, decant for several hours now and drink this beautiful Cabernet over the next 10-15 years.

"We had this as a 2nd bottle. I was a little worried it would need a longer decant, (2hrs +), but was incredibly impressed how well it tasted after pouring through the aerator / screen and a 2nd time into the glass. It was already good in about 15 min. Very smooth. Wonderful black cheries, as described. I tried my 2nd bottle yesterday. one with Wish I had gotten more than 3 bottles."
